The Centre for Byzantine Research has a special library, which serves both the needs of the research projects carried out at the Centre and those of external researchers who study issues related to Byzantine studies.
The library’s collection includes approximately 40,000 volumes and 300 series of journals, covering the subjects of Byzantine Archaeology and Art, Byzantine Law, Byzantine Theology, Byzantine History, and Medieval Greek Literature. The library is one of the richest in Europe in terms of the publications of Byzantine texts, while, at the same time, it collects one of the most important collections regarding the mosaic floors of late antiquity and Byzantine manuscripts.

All books acquired after 1990 are included in the Library Catalog. Retrospective cataloging began in October 2011 by the Central Library employees.
Postgraduate students, PhD candidates, scholars, and researchers from both Greece and abroad may study the materials of the Centre for Byzantine Research.
