IFLA - International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions

The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) is the leading international body representing the interests of library and information services and their users. It is the global voice of the library and information profession. The AUTh Library is a member of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions since 1994. The AUTh Library has hosted two Satellite meetings during the 2019 IFLA World Library and Information Congress.

LIBER - Ligue des Bibliothèques Européennes de Recherche / Association of European Research Libraries

The LIBER Association of European Research Libraries represents the interests of its institutions, their universities, and their researchers in several key areas, such as Copyright Reform, Digital Humanities, Open Access, Metrics, and Research Data Management. AUTh Library became a member of the LIBER association in 2007. AUTh library staff has participated in the annual LIBER conference and in Working Groups.

HEAL-Link - Hellenic Academic Libraries Link

HEAL-Link began operating in 1999 to facilitate access to journal subscriptions with the least economic resources. Later, HEAL-Link used European funding to develop information services for all its members. Examples include Kallipos - Open Textbooks, Electronic Document Delivery Service, Information LIteracy System (ILSEAB), Scholarly Communication Branch, AMElib Accessible Multi-modal Electronic Library. The AUTh Library is one of the HEAL-Link found members and hosts the HEAL-LInk headquarters in the AUTh premises since 2015. As a HEAL-LIink member, the AUTh Library has access to all HEAL-Link subscriptions and services.

CartoGeoLab - Laboratory of Cartography and Geographical Analysis

CartoGeoLab is a legal academic entity of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Faculty of Engineering, School of Rural and Surveying Engineering, Department of Cadastre, Photogrammetry and Cartography, established in March 2016 (Official Gazette No. B 636, 9.3.2016) after the University Senate decision in December 2015 following the proposal made by the School of Rural & Surveying Engineering (SRSE). AUTh Library cooperates with the CartoGeoLab since 2016. Within the framework of this cooperation, CartoGeoLab researchers study the AUTh Library cartographic collections. Moreover, map exhibitions have been organized and cartographic publications have been published.

Group of Geographical Libraries

The AUTh Library is one of the founding members of this group which started operating in December 2017. The members of this group cooperate to build common management practices of their cartographic collections and disseminate these good practices through workshops and events.

Open Knowledge Greece

Open Knowledge Greece is an official chapter of Open Knowledge International. It was founded in 2012 and is a nonprofit organization working to disseminate open knowledge, open data, transparency and participation. Since October 2014, the AUTh LIbrary and Opekn Knowledge Greece organize events, workshops, and seminars to disseminate the principles of open access, open science, ethical publishing, and open data. Both institutions co-organize two annual events, the Open Access Week event in October and the Open Data Day event in March.
