Access Library eResources

IP address recognition is used by publishers to allow access to their resources.
Thanks to AUTh's IT 'Network Access' (greek only) services, AUTh community members may access AUTh Library tools and resources from computers in or outside the AUTh campus.

Please follow the instructions depending on whether your PC is located inside or outside the campus.

Virtual Private Network (VPN) Connection

Users with an internet connection are invited to install and set a VPN - Virtual Private Network (in Greek) client software on their home/personal computer. With the VPN client installed, users' home/personal computers connect to the AUTh network and obtain an AUTh IP address enabling them to access all AUTh and HEAL-Link eResources and services.

  1. On the Virtual Private Network Access - VPN (in Greek) webpage check the Connection Setup block on the right. Select your PC's operational system
  2. Download and execute the VPN client on your PC
  3. After successful download, your PC will have an AUTh IP address, and access to all AUTh Library and HEAL-Link subscriptions will be possible.

Detailed instructions for connecting to each publisher's site using your credentials from AUTh University are displayed in separate pdf files on the right of this webpage. The pdf files are in Greek but they all contain step-by-step images that may help you.

Google Campus Activated Subscriber Access (CASA)

An initiative by Google and the HighWire Press. When a computer or a person with a Gmail account uses the AUTh network a unique session/token is created. This session/token remains active for 30-60 days depending on the publisher. The 30-60 days that the session/token remains active, you may download articles from publishers'/vendors' site without needing a VPN connection or any other credentials. After the end of the 30-60 days period, you should repeat the procedure.
